Privacy notice

This notice explains how ElimuKids handles personal information when a parent or guardian sets up an assessment, a child completes activities, and a report is produced, purchased, or recovered.

Information we collect

We do not ask for a child's full legal name, school, photograph, home address, biometrics, or precise location to provide the standard service.

How we use information

We use this information to deliver the correct age-aware assessment, save progress, calculate results, generate the parent report, confirm payment, recover a report, prevent misuse, and maintain reliable records. Assessment scores are calculated by approved scoring rules. Generative AI does not calculate or change a child's score.

Children's information and consent

A parent or legal guardian must provide consent before a child begins. We aim to collect only what is necessary for the assessment and report, present the experience in child-friendly language, and keep payment and detailed report screens in parent mode.

Service providers and transfers

We may use carefully selected providers for hosting, database storage, payments, security, and report delivery. They may process only the information needed to provide their service and must protect it. Where information is processed outside Kenya, we use appropriate contractual and technical safeguards.

Retention

Assessment and report records are kept only for the period described in our retention policy. Some minimal payment, security, or dispute records may be kept longer where required by law or needed to protect legal rights.

Your choices and rights

A verified parent or guardian may ask to access, correct, restrict, object to, or delete personal information where applicable. You may also withdraw consent for future processing. Some records may need to be kept where the law requires it or while a payment or legal dispute is open.

Questions or complaints

Contact us using the details on our controller and privacy contact page. You may also make a complaint to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Kenya.
